Food Pantry

The River of Life Church Food Pantry helps feed those in need within our community.

ITEMS NEEDED FOR THE FOOD PANTRY

The ROLC Food Pantry is feeding over 44 families per month and it’s expected that over the next couple months we could be reaching up to 60 families. We currently receive food from the Hunger Task Force (HTF) on a weekly basis and once a month from The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Due to the shortage of food over the last several months at HTF, we are asking for donations from our church family to meet the demands of feeding the families. The following is a list of items we need. We have listed items by their brand name for easier identification, but    generic brands are fine as well.

  • Instant boxed or packaged potatoes (i.e., Idahoan, Betty Croker, Great Value, etc)
  • Rice A Roni boxed dinners
  • Pasta Roni boxed dinners
  • Knorr Pasta Sides
  • Egg noodles
  • Hamburger Helper
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Pickles (all varieties)
  • Canned Chef Boyardee (all varieties)
  • Plastic/paper bags

Thank you to everyone for helping to feed those in need and thank you to those who have been providing food over the last few months whenever we were in need.

FOOD PANTRY MISSION

The River of Life Church Food Pantry’s mission is to secure and distribute food to the needy in the name of Jesus in an effort to alleviate hunger in the Coulee Region. Our Pantry is a 100% volunteer organization. Have you ever known what it means to be hungry? Have you ever wondered where your family's next meal would come from? We have people right here in our community that know these realities all too well. Jesus told us that whenever we serve "the least of these" we are serving Him.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Our Food Pantry secures food and non-food essentials (toilet paper, soap, toothpaste, laundry detergent, etc.) through purchases and donations. Donated items are received from the Hunger Task Force and TEFAP. Many items are donated by individuals, churches, businesses and local grocery chains such as Festival Foods.

We operate a "choice" pantry. This means each household coming to our pantry is permitted to walk through the pantry choosing the food and household items that they want and/or need. The amount of food and non-food items a client is permitted is based upon their family (household) size.

All first time participants are required to show proof of address for each adult individual in the household (i.e., energy bill, driver's license) and proof of all children in the household.

DURING COVID-19 PARTICIPANTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE FOOD PANTRY. ITEMS WILL BE BOXED/BAGGED AND BROUGHT OUT TO YOUR VEHICLE AT THE FOOD PANTRY ENTRANCE.
